Mark of the Fool

Alex Roth dreamed of becoming a wizard at the prestigious University of Generasi. However, on his eighteenth birthday, fate intervenes: he is Marked as one of his kingdom’s Heroes, specifically as 'The Fool' - the worst of the marks. Rather than accept this destiny, he rejects divine decree and flees with his sister and friend to the university, hoping to study the Ravener, his land's great enemy.

The Mark prevents him from learning magic and spellcraft, instead enhancing other areas. He must learn to exploit this to his advantage. Life at the university involves making friends, alchemy, dangerous secrets, demonic attacks, city games, and the looming threat of war in Thameland. As he grows stronger, he makes discoveries that could change his kingdom forever.

Alex eventually journeys to Thameland, where secrets and the reunion with the other Heroes await. He will go to hell and back to uncover truths about the cyclical battle against the Ravener and ancient conspiracies.
